Persons of all ages are invited to “Step through the Story Portal” for the second annual GC Mini-Con. The free, family-friendly event will take place Saturday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 5 pm at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.
Afternoon events will include a laser demonstration by Troy Powers at 1:30; Ninja Olympics at 2 pm; a costume contest and runway with Kohaku & Friends at 3; and a sword class with dojo owners Samurai Dan and Lady Jillian at 4 pm.
Costumes are encouraged and make it a more fun day for all. Attendees are encouraged to dressed as their favorite comic book/anime/manga/sci-fi/movie/game/series character.
Prizes in the costume contest will be awarded in kids, teen, adult categories, People’s Choice, and judge’s favorite. This fun event is for all ages, so all costumes must be family-friendly.
“Register for door prizes, do a scavenger hunt, make a craft, and have a snack while you stroll through the event. Stop by the vendor tables where you will find art, books, comics, and a variety of fandom merchandise for sale,” an organizer said.
